Liebster Award

Thank you jade0207 for nominating me.

Check out her blog. She is new here, but certainly talented when it comes to describing emotions.

Award

Rules:
1   Make a post thanking and linking the person who nominated me.
2   Include the Liebster Award sticker in the post.
3    Nominate 5-10 other bloggers and notify them of this on of their posts.
4    All nominated bloggers are to have less than 200 followers.
5.   Answer the 11 questions posed by your nominator and create 11 different questions for your nominees to answer. Or, you can repeat the same questions.
6.  Copy these rules into your post.

Questions for me.

1)   What is perfect love for you?

This is not fair. The first question shouldn’t be this difficult. Let’s see. Perfect love is accepting each other’s imperfections and loving each other in spite of them. No, scrap that. That’s too bookish. I don’t know squat about perfect love.
2)   Dancing in the rain or snow fight?

Dancing and me? I dance like a horse. Not that they dance, but if you can picture a horse dancing, you will know how I look like when I dance. So, it’s a snow fight for me. I’ve never had one. I’ve never even seen an actual snowfall in real life.
3)   What’s the best thing about kids?

They can say poo and make adults laugh. When I say it, I get frowns and dark muttering faces.
4)   Hit me with the most dangerous thing you’ve ever done.

I killed 141 mosquitoes with my bare hands one night.
5)   Which other language would you want to learn?

Urdu. I know a little bit at present, but I’d like to gain fluency in it. I think politically biased historical decisions have led to a slow demise of this wonderful language in India.
6)   Your favourite movie?

Shawshank Redemption. I’ve seen it many times.
7)   What keeps you motivated to keep blogging?

Funny and interesting interactions I have with other bloggers. I usually spend more time commenting or reading other people’s comments than writing stuff for my blog.
8)   What superhero power do you want?

Superheroes never seem to have the need to eat, bathe or release waste. That would be a pretty cool power. I could have so much time to do nothing.
9)   What gets wetter and wetter the more it dries?

I don’t know, ice?
10)  Tell me something about you no one else in the blogosphere knows.

The day I got selected for my school cricket team was one of the happiest days of my life. Of course, what happened after we played the match is another story.

That’s all, I think. As for the nominations, I will play it a bit differently. I won’t ask any questions. I will just mention some blogs that I love reading (within the confines of Liebster rules, of course). So, if you are reading this post, please check out these blogs. You will not be disappointed.

Where I wield my pen

Shweta, here, has a talent for tweaking the heartstrings with powerful endings to her poems.

Daalchini

This is mostly a poetry blog. There are poems in both Hindi and English. I really enjoy the Hindi ones.

Identity17

Revels is one of the most thoughtful writers I have met here. You will find her talking eloquently on issues ranging from death, trust and family. An optimist, who will always have words that will make you look at things in the positive light.

Thereby hangs a tail

(I know you’ll hate me for this KT, but I’ve got to say it)

This guy is hands down one of the funniest persons I’ve met here. His versatile writing will also move you to tears sometimes. A true animal lover and a doting father. Trust me his blog is brilliant.

My journey with Hijab

Sana started this blog with a specific set of reasons as evident from the name of the blog. Over time she has also written on issues like marriage and freedom to wear anything one pleases. And it seems she is a lean mean cooking machine as well.

Accidentallyinked

A mysterious writer who has a talent for observing the minute details of life we usually take for granted. Has started writing in Urdu as well. How cool is that!

Musings of an Indian Aussie Hijabi

Aaliyah is one of my favourite bloggers. A young woman with a sharp wit and a profound sense of humour. When she is not writing about dog chases, you will find her pondering on social issues ranging from racism, discrimination and jingoism.

  1. All I can say is you are bloody incorrigible you ass… what the devil is this now? And there is a poo in this post too.. who will even try to retrieve your cold dark soul from that stinky cesspit? 😀 Hahaha, incorrigible.. but hey, thank you, bhaijaan.. I appreciate it.. but I really think you wasted a nomination on worthless me.. I thought I had explained it quite .. er… well.. (Shudder*** the ignominy of being yelled at by people you liked most on other blogs for that nasty, mindless post)…
Ershad.. you kill me.. really do.. and that too in tons of poo.. man, don’t you ever get tired of the stinky poo? Hahahaha.. thank you man.. really appreciate it.. but I hate to even go back to my own blog.. don’t you?? 😀

    1. I know how you feel about this stuff, and for a moment I felt a bit of hesitation. Then I thought what will he do? Write another viciously hilarious or hilariously vicious rant? Well I can bear to listen to his crap one more time (Oh, man! I truly am incorrigible).
No, man. This blogging “thing” has been a good experience for me till now. And I just wanted to mention the blogs which made it so for me.

  2. Hey there! I found you through a friend (or a friend of a friend) and your blog looked interesting so I thought I’d tell you. It’s October, and in honor of my birthday month I’m going to be finding 10 fun and exciting bloggers a day and strike up a conversation; who knows, maybe you’ll come visit and comment and follow me? Have a good one!

    1. Hey, thank you for visiting and commenting. I will definitely look up your blog. And that sounds like an interesting project.
Oh, happy birthday (or birthmonth?) to you 🙂

  3. I don’t think I have ever laughed this hard at reading responses for the award questions.
Ershad miya, you have done it again. You genuinely are a poo lover. Kahte hain chori karo toh chup ke karo, pyaar karo toh izhaar na karo, gaao toh shower main gaao lekin poo ki taareef khulle aam internet pe karne se na sharmaao 😛
Dancing like a horse had me in hysterics because its so much better and funnier to imagine than robot. My friend’s wedding was last year and she wanted me and a couple other girls to perform this dance. I have never danced ever so while everyone else swayed their hips, I was a robot whose mechanical actions did not do justice. My friend finally let go of me and I was a happy audience watcher who clapped happily along with the aunties.
You don’t need to learn Urdu. You are fantastic at it I reckon.

Aaaaww you are too sweet. Thanks for mentioning me.And you are one of my favourite bloggers too. You make the effort to not only read long azz posts but also comment on each and every post, a thing I wish most bloggers would do. But most importantly your comments never fail to make me laugh. Before this acceptance speech gets emotional :P, thanks for mentioning that I am young and funny : a combination very hard to get. I should put that in my shaadi.com profile.
I like how you described a little bit about the blogger and what he/she blogs about. Really thoughtful of you.

    1. I know! I have a disease. I was writing this other post (that I’m soon going to publish) and poo references crept in inadvertently.
And I forgot to mention you have a talent for impromptu poetry :D. That is funny “azz”
Ooh, dancing at weddings is one of my recurring nightmares. I join the clapping brigade too. This one time I was a baraati for my friend’s wedding, and I escaped to the front and ended up managing the traffic on the road.

Whatever Urdu I know is mostly due to my Hindi knowledge. I still use the Devanagri script when I’m reading Urdu poets.

Haha, thank you. You and I have that in common I guess when it comes to the comments.
Sshh. Shaadi wale profile mein thodi na sachchai likhi jaati hai.
      And again, thank you 🙂

      1. Hahaha OMG will poo creep in Delhi accents post too now? You can’t help it. It’s ok 🙂
Yup you did forget 😦 Oh well no probs. My ego meter would go full throttle if you told about my poetry too 😛 Praises do me harm. Besides always good to have some mystery and not share everything.I like the azz at the end.Good job.
OMG controlling the traffic lol!! The best. I miss India and its unexpected adventures and stories. And you have a knack of presenting it in such a humorous way too!!
Oh really? So you are good at Hindi not Urdu. I am the opposite. It takes me ages to read billboards and signs when I go to India. I am learning hindi bit by bit but there are hard words that are tough to pronounce.
Yeah we do. What you forgot to mention is that I tend to spam the comments section with ze impromptu poetry 😁
Haha shaadi wali profile hoti toh sachchai likhi jaati na? Ooh that inspired me to write a post. Thanks.
You are too polite 🙂 Thanks again for directing your readers too me.

      2. Nahi, nahi. Delhi accents post is pending. Yeh doosra wala hai, although it’s related to Delhi.

Oh, I have so many wedding related stories. Those are the best places if you are looking for something humorous. Watch Raju Srivastava’s take on weddings. Rofl stuff.

The lack of zer, zabar, pesh, etc in Urdu disorientates me, as my only interaction with the Arabic alphabet has been with the Quran. I can imagine learning Hindi from scratch would be more difficult. So bravo!

Na, na, spam-wam kuch nahi hai. Sab enlightening baatcheet hai 😀
Will be waiting for your post. And thank you for all the wonderful compliments. I might float to work tonight. 😀

      3. Oooh two posts. Can’t wait for both.
You should do a post on types of wedding or wedding adventures. I love weddings as it is and your comical adventures will be a cherry on the top. And I did watch Raju Srivastav’s video, the one where he talks about food served at weddings. I often rewatch it. That and the one of trains/metros. Best.

Aaah right. Thats the reason my older brother finds Urdu hard too. But you are trying which is awesome.

Take care, don’t hit poles while flying to work 😛

      4. 😀 Wedding posts? Haha, That would be fun. I’ll start making notes. Why don’t you write one too? I’d like to know what happens in an NRI wedding.
        Oh, I have a torchlight. Don’t worry 😛

      5. Awesome!! Do make coz it will be so good. One meets all kinds of comical characters and mishaps on weddings. It will be fun to write and even more fun to read. Sorry for giving you homework #sorrynotsorry.
I will try but NRI weddings are so boring and mechanical and they have rehearsals before the actual weddings so no mishaps occur. Most boring post ever it will be. I will try to write and see if I can make light of the situation 😉
Haha I miss the laaltain and the buzzing mosquitoes of India

      6. Rehearsals? Seriously? You mean they get married twice or however times the rehearsals take place? (No, I’m being stupid) So, how many times do they get married? (I’ll stop now)

See, it will be funny 😀
        I’ll be waiting.

  4. Firstly, thank you so much for saying such sweet things about my blog.
You’ve got a pretty neat blog! I loved the A JOKE post, was so serious and deep. But hey you had other posts like the DOG one that cracked me up. 😛

Your replied to the questions are very interesting. 😀
Hmm you think horses cant dance?Ohkay then I guess we will have to imagine you doing a dressage or something. XD
Shh btw horses DO dance. 😛

    You want to learn Urdu?
That sounds great (: I think your Urdu is pretty good.
You had me confused when you mentioned Ghalibs shair in a comment on my blog..I was in doubt if you are actually Indian. I haven’t seen Indian people read Urdu poetry. 😛

    1. You’re welcome and thank you for those nice words. I had fun writing the Dog post, haha.
Horses can dance? What are you talking about? Now who will share my ignominy? 😀
Again, thank you. But Urdu is mostly due to my Hindi education.
And yes, Indians do read Urdu poetry, although the numbers are dwindling, which is very sad to be honest. Ghalib’s poetry helped me through some difficult times and that was what got me interested in Urdu.

      1. Welcome ^-^ Haha I wonder if any of the dogs owners read it. XD
        Hmm I think snails don’t/can’t dance. 😛

        Welcome again.Nice!
To be honest,I find Ghalib’s poetry difficult to understand..But no doubt Urdu poetry is just ahmazing, some poems just make you want to hyperventilate. 🙂 You should read Iqbal’s too.

        Liked by 1 person

      2. I find Ghalib’s poetry difficult to understand too. That’s why I constantly refer rekhta.org, especially for the complex words like qaid-e-hayat-o-band-e-gham. But when you understand the words, then Subhanallah.
Oh, I am planning to read Iqbal too. Mir, Ghalib and Iqbal are probably the most celebrated of Urdu poets, and it would be an insult to the language if you don’t read their works 😀

      3. Qaid-e-hayat: Prison of life
        band-e-gham: The chains of sorrow

Qaid-e-hayat-o-band-e-gham asl mein dono ek hain
Maut se pehle aadmi gham se nijat paye kyun

Haha, I remember reading that these compound words originated from Ghalib’s fascination with Persian poetry.

    1. Thank you for those beautiful words. You are too kind. I’d like to think I am creative. I once tried to sketch my drawing teacher’s face. She was a portly little Punjabi lady. Only problem was the drawing ended up resembling Mahatma Gandhi more than her. She was not pleased.
I admire your blog because you stand up for your beliefs. That’s rare.

      1. 🙂 well I have same problem with drawing, never drew a straight line so far ! but creativity is not limited to only drawing or painting , it can be in anything we do, like you create joke out of simple life scenario, just now about your teacher! that flowing mischief and humour is creativity ! 🙂
