Heartless, they called me
Soulless being my fame
Humour was my friend
When grief became shame
Masks adorned my face
Seemed like a machine
No life and no death
Buried in between
Prayed for an escape
From the hurt and guilt
Wished someone came, and
Had my heart rebuilt
Then you came along
Like that star up north
Guiding my lost faith
Pulling it henceforth
And just like that star
Drives darkness away
You gave me the light
To search the right way
Through the thickets of
The forest of fate
Through the mazes of
Prejudice and hate
And emerge at the
Precipice at which
Pain ends and bliss starts
And life appears rich
For when these eyes close
One image haunts most
Anklet, rose, and a
Smile brighter than those
Because you are my
Soulmate; my one love;
‘Tis you that I see
When stars fade above

Romance and you? This was breathtaking! That is exactly what I want love to feel like! Where it brings out the best in you and all you want to do is keep shining in your soulmate’s light.
You are a man of several hidden talents! I feel like copying that little kid in the Amazon ad and go, “Aur dikhaao, aur dikhaao!” π

Hahaha, well sometimes you have to go out of your comfort zone right? Thanks for encouraging and appreciating Adi. I am glad you could relate.

Okay so I started reading it like, “Oh, Superman’s romance. There must be something poo related at the end”.. and then I reached the last line, and there was nothing like that. I am awestruck, for real. Superman, You? Is that you? Woah. WoAH. WOAH.
I want to scream in joy like Anna from Frozen, “Th-i-ss i-ss a-may-hh-zh-i-n-ggg!!”
Serious comment : Hi, Sulphurman. This is something outta this world. Keep shining. π

Haha, considering my past efforts, I can’t blame you for expecting something like that. It’s my fault only π
But seriously, thanks Mahaah. That means a lot π

Wow sulphur dude that was amazing! Wow. Loved the way you made it rhyme like it was really good. I don’t know who you wrote this for but they’ll be staring at your normally funny self with eyes wide open saying “How did you write something so good!” I didn’t know it’d end that way but whoooaaaa you have this side too π

π Well, you know nothing lasts forever, even the…er…sulphur stuff. So had to find some alternative π
Thanks for such a great comment! Encourages me to experiment more. π

As I started reading this, it reminded me of the poem you wrote where you gave something else your first preference over your lady love lol. But the smile flickered as I got sucked into the depths of it. This was hauntingly beautiful. Read it thrice or maybe more and each time, each line spoke out even more. If this is not fictional, your soulmate is lucky. And if it is fictional, you are lucky. Jokes : I hope you get blessed with a soulmate soon haha.

Oh you remember that poem? hahaha.
Ah well that represented a practical problem. You know however romantic you may be, you can’t ignore “certain” calls π
But with all this encouragement, I feel I will be able to at least put up a fight against the other thing π
No seriously, thank you so much Aaliyah. That really means a lot.

This is beautiful, Ershad. All of these lines. There’s a lot of soul in this, it seems. A lot many feelings in this ‘experiment’ of yours.. From the first word heartless to grief and humor, the thickets of forest (of fate) imagery and that north star. It’s…a really nice one.
